After working as an award-winning video editor and broadcast designer in film and television for many years, Noi has taken a hiatus from cutting episodic TV (half-hour comedy, sketch comedy) and feature films to concentrate on screenwriting. Her most recent character-driven comedyManDate has garnered attention on the festival circuit, placing in five well-known contests and earning enough praise to motivate her to continue writing. ManDate is about a tightly-wound CEO who gets roped into a couples vacation with his wife and her sister but a blizzard hits, trapping him in a remote cabin with his future brother-in-law, a scruffy, laid-back pot dispensary owner he’s never met. (Click here to read reviews, logline and writing samples from “ManDate,” the feature script which the Nicholl Fellowship called  “fresh and funny,” “smartly comedic” and “sharply written and entertaining.”)

Noi’s next screenplay, The Day After Xmas,” mashes up traditional Christmas stories with Hangover-esque adult comedy. In this holiday romp, a bitter Santa takes off to Key West to have (mis)adventures with his crass magical animal BFFs (Blitzen, the Drunken Reindeer & Winthrop, the World’s Angriest Puffin). They encounter flying motorcycle gangs, salacious drag queens, tattooed pirates and Poppa Hemingway’s ghost, all while Mrs. Claus and the EIA (Elven Intelligence Agency) are hunting Santa down to settle an Elf Strike threatening to end Christmas forever.

Noi’s work as an editor has been nationally and internationally broadcast on networks such as ABC, Fox, Disney, Discovery Channel, Nickelodeon, ESPN, Warner Brothers, The CW and Sundance. View a partial list of Noi’s previous clients here.
